Hyaluronic acid (HA) injections are recommended in the management of knee osteoarthritis (OA) by international societies because of their long-term effect.1 ,2
Methods
AMELIA is the longest (3 years) randomised, placebo controlled trial in patients with symptomatic knee OA. Eligible patients were men and women (>45 years) with knee OA and pain of 55 mm or greater on a visual analogue scale.
