      The 3rd International Conference of Evidence-Based Health Care Teachers & Developers (EBHC-TD) was hosted in Taormina (Sicily), November 2–6, 2005, by the GIMBE® (Gruppo Italiano per la Medicina Basata sulle Evidenze). The island of Sicily was an appropriate location as during its rich history, multiple nationalities have left their indelible mark on its cultural landscape and architecture, setting the stage beautifully for this conference where the relevance of strategies for teaching and developing evidence-based practice (EBP) knows no national or disciplinary boundaries.
