In the commentary by [Douketis](http://ebm.bmj.com/lookup/volpage/3/92),1 the third sentence is incorrect. It should be “Recent studies have established that the combination of a negative d-dimer test result with a normal DUS or normal impedance plethysmographic measurement obviates the need for repeated non-invasive testing (1–3).”
